My entry into the #kustomgritmalletchallenge
This build was a labour of love, but the end result was epic and made it all worth it.
Dnd is a game built on imagination, or so I'm told. I've never actually played. But I was asked to fashion a dice holder specifically for a player, and I could resist going all out!
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of having the same stuff as everyone else. So it was only fitting I make a dining table different to anything else!
At this point, things can't get much stranger...
This ones a little different though. Linear rails should last longer than construction timber right?
At this point I think the wood dust is getting to my brain...
Normally you wouldn't have much use for handplane shavings, however with a little resin, anything is possible!
This is the beginning of something BIG!
Something about this Jarrah just hits right. Unfortunately, it nearly hit me right in the face...
It has been a long time since I played with Milliput...
I needed a new wallet, so what better excuse to buy a few new tools and try out a new hobby...
This pattern had a unique set of challenges about it, but it was great fun to try out!
This has to be my worst accident in the shop since starting JND Creations.
Seriously... just watch. It's crazy!
How did I go from transporting money in the desert to making woodworking Youtube videos on the West Coast? The whole JND story is wrapped up here in a quick video for you.
You need to just watch this one. I cant say much more...
I just picked up this JK Wrangler, and as you do when you get a Wrangler, you need to customise everything. Along with the eBay binge on little accessories, I figured I better stay true to my calling and add some resin and burl into the mix!
With baby #2 due any day now, I figured it was a good opportunity to try out my skills at making a baby rattle. This idea was inspired by my friend Darryl over at DreadKnot Woodshop.
If you want to take a closer look at the space I create in, this is the video for you!
I needed a side table for my couch, or a "couch table" as I've grown to call it. This was the perfect chance to try out a crazy leg design I had in mind.
Ooshies cast in resin with Jarrah burl... Need I say more?
Intimidating, time consuming and difficult. 3 ways to describe an end grain cutting board.
Beautiful, striking and functional. Also 3 ways to describe an end grain cutting board. Check out how I created my very first brickwork end grain board, and see what tips I've got to help you create your very own!
Its been on my "to-do" list since upgrading my tablesaw. Take a look at how I build this simple, yet very functional cross cut sled!
This custom order was my biggest to date. It came with a few challenges, but in the end the results were incredible. Check out exactly how I made it!
Casting resin 7 inches deep in one pour is insane... But can I do it?
Have you ever seen RESIN RIVER DRAWER FRONTS on workshop furniture before?
It was time to upgrade the outfeed set up for my table saw. I decided to go a little fancy on this one and make the workshop look a little nicer.
I get asked A LOT, "how do you turn resin?". So when i got this commissioned order in, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to show you how I tackle the task of turning resin!
Buying big, fancy tools is often not an option for a lot of people. In this build I show you how to create some awesome wooden rings with some very basic tools that most households will have!
If you've followed my channel for any amount of time, you'll know how much I loved my Ozito table saw... NOT.
upgrading to this beast was the best thing I've done in a long time!
Sons Of Anarchy is one of my all time favourite TV shows. Ever since watching it, I've wanted my own gavel. So I decided to make one, with a live edge twist.
This has been on my to-do list for years! Using electricity to burn amazing, unique patterns into wood. Lichtenberg burning, also known as fractal burning can be extremely dangerous, but man it's a lot of fun!
This project takes top spot on my favourites list at the moment. Resin Dovetails, what a venture! I have never seen this done before and I'm sure you haven't either!
I created this piece to enter into an art competition. The amazing pattern in the veneer inlay really stands out and looked incredible!
This build was a custom order I decided to document and I'm glad I did. The grain in these solid Merbau serving trays is beautiful, and the Jarrah Burl tray was great fun to create.

I tried a new deep pour resin in this one to do a clear casting and display the beautiful natural features of Australian burl
This York Gum burl had a beautiful live edge I wanted to retain. Unfortunately this lead to a very uneven piece on the lathe. How beautiful is the inside of York Gum burl though?
This was my first time ever working with Camphor Laurel. This slab had some massive cracks and voids in it, so I decided resin would be the best bet to fill everything in. I also wanted to try and hand cut some bow tie inlays and they came out awesome!
Dragons are a staple in the world of imagination and make believe. Given my past in magic, I wanted to bring something from that world into our world of reality.
A winged bowl is something I've always wanted to try, and laminated wood can create some amazing patterns when turning. This was an adventure!
